Testimonials
Life has started to change. Small things in life solve themselves so easily. I have noticed that people have become so nice towards me, and so have I myself, because all I see in them is just life, and just love. And that is what I am getting back from them. Life has become one joyous experience, just without any reason. It is very rare now that I experience sad moments.
I just practiced the Isha Kriya meditation and was surprised how powerful this meditation with Sadhguru is - even through an online video! I certainly felt a sense of inner peace, balance and a separation from attachment.
I went through the Isha Kriya process today and felt tears welling up in my eyes....I felt something – sort of an urge to enjoy it longer.
Thanks, Sadhguru, for helping me. I took the Inner Engineering course last July in Florida and came away settled and at peace. But after a knee replacement surgery in December, my whole body and my mind has been so difficult to deal with. Just listening to the Isha Kriya has made it possible to feel that same peace again.
With Isha Kriya I am able to feel my breath flowing easily. I feel healthy and happy when I get up in the morning, after sleeping well in the night without any mental disturbance. Now my blood sugar and high BP are almost normal and I am really happy about it. I am highly grateful to Sadhguru for blessing me with this sacred kriya.
Since practicing Isha Kriya I have realized that the negative beliefs I held about myself from childhood had no basis in reality and I have been able to let go of them.
I have been practicing Isha Kriya for five months now and the changes I've seen have been remarkable. I am thinking less and have less of a need to know "why" about everything. Life seems to be flowing without conflict and just feels more cohesive.
Since practicing Isha Kriya, My patience and thought processes are improving. I feel more centered and even keeled.
I went to hear Sadhguru (the founder of Isha Yoga) speak in March this year, on the recommendation of a friend. I had no previous experience of meditation and only a little of yoga. The experience of the meditation technique he taught at that session was really quite amazing. Just that one small exposure has given me a sense of inner calm that has enabled me to handle a difficult period in my personal life far better than I could have ever thought possible. Sadhguru has a sense of humour and view of life and the world that I think everyone would do well to learn from.
Isha Kriya has been a transformative experience for me. I practice twice a day, every day and have not missed a day for the last 11 months. I am healthier, mentally clearer, emotionally much more stable and happy, and more focused. I have noticed that I am less reactive to ‘unpleasant’ situations, which allows me to find solutions that are less emotionally charged. I have also had some profound insights while doing the Kriya. I have been able to feel the visceral difference between what is me and not me. I have discovered that I was creating a lot of what was bothering me previously. I have also had some very profound blissful moments of connection that left me in awe and wonder. I am so grateful and happy that Sadhguru has made this so widely available.
Thanks to Isha Kriya –
I feel well – (I have had cancer and am disabled)
I feel young – (I am 82)
I feel joyful
I feel gratitude
I feel immense devotion
I feel Love
With Isha Kriya I experience a very blissful sensation while meditating. At first I was skeptical about how effective the technique would be, but now I can assert that Isha Kriya is truly effective. I feel less egoistic and self-centered now. I have become more active, my sleep cycles have regularized, I now prefer eating healthy food rather than junk food, and I am becoming more confident and cheerful day by day.
Since learning Isha Kriya I feel less agitated, I have more clarity of thought and I find it easier to complete tasks that before appeared to be too difficult. I have more energy, more patience with people and I feel less angry with the world – more appreciative of things generally. I also feel lighter and much more motivated to attempt and complete tasks. I feel calmer and more at peace – definitely less volatile. Also, more importantly, l am questioning why I tend to be feel heavy and serious most of the time, which tells me that now I am aware there is another way to be. Thank you.
I could not imagine my life now without Isha Kriya. Its main benefits are: peace of mind, emotional stability, mental clarity and an ability stay more in the present. Isha Kriya is a great blessing. I no longer get drawn into the turmoil of everything that is going on externally. It is like the balance from Isha Kriya pervades me, and holds me throughout each day. And the longer I have been practicing this, the deeper it gets. I wouldn’t miss a day, no matter what. It is my Anchor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Isha refers to that which is the source of creation. Kriya literally means internal action. The purpose of Isha Kriya is to help you get in touch with the source of your existence and empower you to create your life according to your own wish and vision. Daily practice of Isha Kriya will help bring clarity of perception, which in turn will enable you to move through the hectic pace of modern life with minimal friction. Other benefits include improved health, heightened focus, increased energy and dynamism, as well as a greater sense of peace, wellbeing and joy.
Sadhguru explains that regular practice of Isha Kriya will create a certain space between you and your body and between you and your mind. Since all suffering that one goes through is only on the level of the body or the mind, once a space arises between what is you and what is your body and your mind, that is the end of suffering. Your ability to use your body and mind will also be greatly enhanced.
Anyone 12 years of age and above can practice Isha Kriya.
When you utter the sound "Aa" (as in the "Aa" in father), the manipuraka chakra or the maintenance center in your body gets activated. When you utter the sound "Aa," you will notice that the vibration starts about three-fourths of an inch below the navel and spreads right across the body. This vibration can assist greatly in energizing your maintenance center. Activating this center brings health, dynamism, prosperity, and wellbeing.
An empty-stomach condition is not necessary. However, with a full stomach, you may tend to fall asleep. It is therefore best to leave some gap after a full meal.
While practicing Isha Kriya, you should chant “Aa” only 7 times. However, you can do Isha Kriya more than once during the day if you choose. If you wish to utter a mantra for longer periods, “AUM” would be more appropriate. You can learn how to chant “AUM” as part of the Inner Engineering program. AUM chanting instruction is also offered daily at the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, India, and the Isha Institute of Inner-sciences, Tennessee, USA.
Even if you have a chronic condition or a physical condition, you can still practice Isha Kriya. It is absolutely safe and very beneficial for you. If you are unable to sit in a cross-legged posture, you can use a chair or bench. Just ensure you keep your legs crossed at the ankles, with the right ankle over the left.
You may unconsciously be keeping your mouth somewhat closed. Open your mouth fully and try uttering the sound a little louder. If you do, then you should notice the vibrations in your manipuraka.
Yes, you can sit on a chair with legs crossed at the ankles (right ankle over left) and do the practice.
You can do this meditation anywhere; just be sure you are not physically disturbed for the duration of the kriya. A quiet place would be ideal, but it is not mandatory. If there is no alternative, you can just do it wherever you are; you can use earphones if needed. The important thing is that once you begin the kriya, you do not take a break in between as it will disturb the reorganization of energies that happens during the practice.
You can do it at any time that is convenient for you, but please avoid doing it around midnight.
The kriya will yield maximum benefits if you do it twice a day for 48 days (considered as a full mandala or cycle) or once a day for 90 days. If you are not able to do it twice a day, you can do it as often as it is possible for you. You can also practice the kriya more than twice a day if you wish.
Forty-eight days is a period of time generally known as a mandala, during which the human system goes through a certain cycle. This is also the reason why, in Ayurveda, for example, medicine is usually prescribed for 48 days. It is the length of time needed for the medicine to take root in your system and yield benefits. The same is true for Isha Kriya. It is important that you do it without a break for that period. However, if you are not able to do it twice a day for 48 days, you can do it once a day for 90 days, or as often as it is possible for you.
Bhuta Shuddhi
There is a whole system of yoga called Bhuta Shuddhi, which means “purification of the elements.” The wellbeing of the body and mind can be established by purifying these five elements within the human system.
Upa Yoga
Upa Yoga essentially means “sub-yoga” or “pre-yoga”. The program offers a simple yet powerful set of 10 practices that activate the joints, muscles and energy system.
Yogasanas
Through Yogasanas one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate wellbeing. Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction.
